A new antitumor antibiotic, kazusamycin.

چکیده

A new antibiotic kazusamycin, was isolated from the culture broth of Streptomyces sp. No. 81-484, which shows antitumor activity against experimental murine tumors. This antibiotic did not possess antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, but showed strong cytotoxic activity against HeLa cells in vitro. The chemical and physico-chemical properties of kazusamycin suggest that the molecular formula of this antibiotic is C33H48O7 (MW 556).

Gilvusmycin, a new antitumor antibiotic related to CC-1065.

A new antitumor antibiotic gilvusmycin was isolated from the culture broth of Streptomyces sp. QM16. The structure of gilvusmycin was related to CC-1065 and determined by NMR spectral analysis. Gilvusmycin exhibited antitumor activity against murine leukemia P388 in vivo.

A new antitumor antibiotic SF2575 has been isolated from a culture filtrate of Streptomyces sp. SF2575. The molecular formula was determined to be C40H43NO15 by elemental analysis, mass and 13C NMR spectral analyses. The spectral data revealed SF2575 to be a new tetracycline antibiotic. It was active against Gram-positive bacteria and exhibited antitumor activity against P388 leukemia in mice.

A new diterpene antitumor antibiotic, myrocin C, has been isolated from the culture filtrate of a soil fungus, Myrothecium verrucaria strain No. 55. The antibiotic was effective against Gram-positive bacteria, fungi and yeasts, and prolonged the life span of mice bearing Ehrlich ascites carcinoma.
